    These Size Similar To

The Inov8 Bare XF Pro sizes similar to TYR barefoot shoes, Vivobarefoot, and Feelgrounds shoes with some caveats. Check out my sizing suggestions to learn more.

    How I Suggest Sizing These

These have a wider forefoot and a fairly chill midfoot taper with a narrower heel. If you traditionally like shoes that have a wider triangle-like fit then you'll like these.

If you have narrow and medium-width feet, go down a half-size if you like a snugger fit.

If you have EE+ width feet, you should be fine going true to size in this model, but if you want a snugger fit, go down a half-size. They size longer than the Bare XF if you have that shoe already and want a comparison.

    How to Find Your Size

    Check out: Sizing Guide

I always recommend spot-cleaning barefoot shoes and using a three-pronged approach to do it thoroughly.

I would suggest NOT putting your barefoot shoes in your washing and drying machines. Instead, follow the four steps below for properly cleaning cross-training shoes.

    • Step 1: Grab your barefoot shoes, a clean washcloth, a soft soap void of harsh dyes and fragrances, and lukewarm water.
    • Step 2: Get your washcloth wet with lukewarm water and dab less than a dime-sized amount of soap on the damp washcloth.
    • Step 3: Remove your barefoot shoe’s insoles and spot clean areas on the shoesthat need a little attention. Do not soak your shoes. Repeat this process of dampening your washcloth and rubbing trouble areas until your shoes look noticeably cleaner. If you have bright colorways, rub softly
to avoid ruining your shoe’s colorway.
    • Step 4:Once you’re satisfied with the appearance of your shoes, place them by a vent or dry area in your house and remove their insoles until thorougly dry.

    Features worth knowing

The core construction details that I think are worth knowing before you buy!

    1. ROPE TEC Outsole

The ROPE TEC on this shoe protects the medial and lateral midfoot while also providing the foot with a little extra support and structure. It offers good protection and support while training.

    2. Sock-Like Fit

The Bare XF PRO features a pseudo-bootie-style construction and has a sock-like fit. If you love barefoot shoes that feel minimal and feel like socks training, then you'll feel right at home with these.

    3. Breathable Upper, Wide Toe Box

The breathable mesh and knit upper provide superior ventilation while training. The toe box in these is more square which is great for promoting maximal toe splay while lifting and training.

    4. Additional Midfoot Support

This shoe features Inov8's signature Met-Cradle construction, which gives the midfoot structure and security. For jumping and doing things like

    Lifting Thresholds and My Assessment

This shoe works great for lifting and it's where I really see them shining, especially for the strength and hypertrophy generalist. They flex well, grip differences surfaces great, and have a wicked low stack height.

Below are a few of the core and top lifting tests I've done in them.

    • 465 lb deadlifts. Good toe box width and outsole grip.
    • 405 Trap bar deads. They feel sports and structured where you want them to feel supportive.
    • 215 lb reverse lunge. Good toe box flex and grip.
    Cross Training Assessment

These work great for cross-training and CrossFit. They feel lower to the ground compared to their peers like the Bare XF and Motus Strength from Vivobarefoot. I like how light weight they are while still giving your foot some structure.

For cross-training, these will be best for anyone who likes to blend lifting with functional exercises and plyometrics. If you're a barefoot shoe purist, you're right at home with these.

    Running, Walking and Comfort

For running, my favorite distances to run in these are sprints and shorter bouts ranging from 400 meters and I could see them working for distances up to 2 miles.

For walking and daily wear, I've enjoyed these. They're not going to be your best dress up training:casual wear hybrid-style barefoot shoe, but they can work well for walking if you want a lot of ground feedback with your shoes.
